Das Lied '''''Kennst du die Stadt''''' ist die offizielle Nationalhymne der [[Alsztyna|Freien Hansestadt Alsztyna]]. Die Melodie der Hymne wurde 1864 anlässlich der Einführung der sogenannten "Ausgustverfassung" vom städtischen Symphoniekapellmeister ''Martin Ulmanis'' komponiert und hatte zunächst keinen Text. Schnell wurde die Melodie populär und wurde - dank der liberalen Errungenschaften der neuen Verfassung - positiv in der Bevölkerung aufgenommmen. Schon bald kursierten erste Texte dazu in der Stadt, welche noch uneinheitlich und nebeneinander bei offiziellen Anlässen aufgeführt wurden. Durch Beschluss des Magistrates vom 23. Dezember 1918 wurde die Melodie mit dem Gedicht "Die Stadt am Bernsteinstrand" des alsztynaer Dichters ''Heinrich A. Mülverstedt'' als verbindliche Hymne der Hansestadt festgelegt.<br />
