Er setzt sich aus drei Abgeordneten zusammen, die in den drei bazischen Amtsbezirken Nord-, Mittel- und Südbazen für vier Monate gewählt werden.<br /> <br /> == Grundlagen ==<br /> <br /> Der Landtag ist Thema des dritten Teils der bazischen Verfassung vom 11. Februar 2009. Darin werden folgende grundsätzliche Regelungen zum Landtag getroffen:<br /> <br /> * Der Landtag setzt sich aus je einem Abgeordneten der drei bazischen Amtsbezirke zusammen. Wählbar sind jeweils die volljährigen Bürger des Amtsbezirks. Wählen dürfen ebenfalls alle Bürger über 18 Jahren.<br /> * Der Großherzog kann den Landtag jederzeit auflösen, er muss dies jedoch spätestens vier Monate nach seinem ersten Zusammentritt tun (Legislaturperiode). Spätestens 14 Tage nach der Auflösung sind Neuwahlen des Landtags durchzuführen.<br /> * Der Landtag tagt in der Residenzstadt des Großherzogs ([[Ludwigsruh]]). Im Notfall kann der Tagungsort auch verlegt werden.<br /> * Sitzungen finden in der Regel öffentlich statt, auf Antrag eines Abgeordneten können sie aber auch unter Ausschluss der Öffentlichkeit abgehalten werden.<br /> * Der Landtag fasst seine Beschlüsse mit einfacher Mehrheit. Die Sitzungen werden vom Landtagsvorsitzenden geleitet, der vom Landtag gewählt wird.<br /> * Beschlossene Gesetze sind vom Vorsitzenden dem Großherzog zuzustellen. Unterzeichnet dieser binnen sieben Tagen, so tritt das Gesetz in Kraft.<br /> * Durchsuchungen im Landtagsgebäude sind nur mit Genehmigung des Vorsitzenden erlaubt. Die Abgeordneten sind während der Ausübung ihres Mandates vor Verhaftung geschützt. Sie dürfen nicht wegen ihrer Äußerungen vor dem Landtag außerhalb des Hauses zur Rechenschaft gezogen werden. Sie erhalten eine gesetzlich festgelegte Entschädigung für ihr Mandat.<br /> <br /> Weiteres wird in der Geschäftsordnung des Landtags geregelt, die dieser sich laut Verfassung zu geben hat.
